ELECTRIC GROUND TECHNICIAN
 
 
The City of Milford is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Electric Ground Technician.
 
 
The Electric Ground Technician is responsible for keeping trucks stocked, digging and burying underground electric power lines/supply.  Also, sets transformers, fixes and installs streetlights, and hauls equipment to and from job sites.  The duties of the Electric Ground Technician are performed under the direction of a First Class Electric Line Technician and Management. 

 Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience working in general construction preferably in the electric utility field. Experience working with electric equipment and materials. Possession and retention of a valid Delaware vehicle operator’s license and Class B CDL (Minimum). Must pass pre-employment testing for substance abuse, criminal background, motor vehicle driver’s license history, and a pre-employment physical.  Ability and strength to perform manual labor; ability to be on call and respond safely within 30 minutes of City Yard; physical stamina to withstand working under adverse weather conditions.

PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

 
The City of Milford is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of Public Works Equipment Operator.
 

 
The Public Works Equipment Operator is responsible for maintaining streets and roadways, maintenance and operation of sewer and water systems; Performs routine unskilled manual work; operates various refuse collection equipment and construction equipment including backhoe, tractors, street sweeper, automated refuse collection truck and dump trucks as needed.

Requirements: 
High school diploma or equivalent; extensive experience in related work and demonstrated ability to operate both light and heavy equipment and/or
operation of automated refuse collection equipment. Possession and retention of a valid Delaware vehicle operator’s license and Class B CDL (Minimum). Must pass
pre-employment testing for substance abuse, criminal background, motor vehicle driver’s license history, and a pre-employment physical.  Ability to lift a minimum of 80 pounds; ability to pull large containers; ability to work in inclement weather; reasonable health and fitness that will allow performance of job tasks.  Physically
stepping up and down from high vehicle; walking for extended periods of time at a moderate to fast pace; manually or mechanically operate dumping procedures. 
Ability to work cooperatively with other employees.

 The City of Milford is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time position of City Engineer.  The City Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and construction of a variety of engineering projects for the City, along with the supervision of the City’s water and wastewater operations.  

Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Delaware licensed professional Engineer within six (6) months of hire; Three to five years of experience       in professional engineering; Possession and retention of a valid Delaware vehicle operator’s license; Delaware Water Operator License within twelve (12)         months of hire; Be available for after-hour emergency calls; Attend evening and weekend meetings when needed or required.

Pay Grade: 15; Salary: Yearly Min: $69,337 – Mid: $90,137 with benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, Pension, Life, AD&D, LTD, Vol. STD &
457(b), Deferred Compensation Plan, Paid Vacation, Holiday Leave and Sick Leave.
