2018 Comprehensive Plan Update (pending Certification)

The City of Milford is in the process of updating the City's 2008 Comprehensive Plan.  The Planning Commission has been holding workshops on the third Tuesday of each month since July 2016, reviewing and updating goals, objectives and language for each chapter of the plan.  The Planning Commission, with the assistance from the University of Delaware Institute for Public Administration, produced the draft 2017 Comprehensive Plan document that was reviewed by City Council in June 2017 and submitted to the State of Delaware, Office of State Planning Coordination for Preliminary Land Use Service (PLUS) review in July 2017 (see below link for PLUS comments).  The Planning Commission approved text revisions to the draft 2018 Comprehensive Plan (see below link) in response to State agency comments at the September 2017 meeting.  The Planning Commission held a public hearing on December 19, 2017 and recommended adoption of the plan to City Council.  The City Council held a public hearing to adopt the plan on January 22, 2018, where it was voted to adopt the plan as presented pending certification from the Governor.  The Final 2018 Comprehensive Plan will be forwarded to the OSPC for review and the Governor's office for certification in the upcoming weeks.
