Airport Road Pavement Rehabilitation Project Update - 08/17

The City of Milford’s contractor, Diamond Materials of Newport, DE will complete phase D2 of the Airport Road Rehabilitation Project on Monday, August 21, 2017.   The section between DuPont Blvd (US 113) and Ashley Way will reopen to traffic on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. 

The next phase of the project, D1,  will begin August 22 and close Airport Road between Ashley Way and Cascades Lane .   The rehabilitation of this section includes subbase repair, subbase paving, new inlets, installation of handicapped ramps, curb replacement, concrete island removal, and sidewalk improvements.   Traffic during this phase will be directed to Bowman Road and to US 113.

The sectional closures in the future are anticipated as follows:

Phase C2 – Between Cascades Lane and People’s Place entrance.   This phase will be done to provide access to businesses and residences along the roadway.   Traffic during this phase will be directed to Bowman Road and to US 113 beginning September 5 through September 18.

Phase C1 – Between Bowman Road and People’s Place entrance.   This phase will be done in two sections to provide access to businesses and will divert traffic using Canterbury, Bowman, and US 113.   Projected time frame is September 18 through October 6.

Phase B – Between Delaware Veterans Blvd and Canterbury Road.   Traffic during this phase will be directed to Bowman Road and to US 113 beginning October 5 through November 8.

Phase A – Between Delaware Veterans Blvd and Bowman Road.   During this phase the detour will be through the Milford Industrial Park using Mullet Run and Brent Jordan Way, and will be done in two separate phases to allow access to the Jehovah Witness Church beginning November 5 through November 30.
