City of Milford Disconnect Policy: Payment arrangements may be made provided that the payment arrangement is sufficient to clear the existing utility bill within a timely manner and prior to calculation of the next utility bill. Payment arrangements will be accepted by phone however, should there be a dispute over agreed upon arrangements it may be necessary for the customer to appear in person at City Hall to sign a payment agreement form. If arrangements are not kept as promised , the property will be disconnected the following business day. No further payment arrangements will be made if an arrangement is broken. Payment arrangements will be made only with the customer whose name appears on the utility account. All payments and/or payment arrangements must be made by 4:30 p.m. prior to the designated disconnect day. Payments or payment arrangement requests placed in the drop box after 4:30 p.m. will not be taken into consideration. Disconnection of utilities will be done at 8:00 a.m. on the day specified on the delinquent notice. Upon disconnection of utilities, payment in full including administrative fee will be required for reconnections. It is too late to make arrangements or partial payments once the disconnect list has been distributed. The administrative fee will apply when the list has been distributed. Payment arrangements are to be made to the Billing Department Staff or the Office Manager at 302-422-6616 ext. 501, 167, 168, or 169.
Delinquent notices are mailed on a monthly basis, however failure to receive a notice in the mail does not relieve you of your responsibilities regarding payment.
