The Public Works Department would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during the challenging times the Department is experiencing with mechanical issues on 3 of the 4 Solid Waste vehicles in its fleet. Late in the day Friday, repairs on 1 of the 3 unavailable trucks was completed and it was returned to service. Consequently, our dedicated staff worked over the Holiday weekend for all hours when the DSWA (Lincoln) Transfer Station was open to try and catch up on recycle. We are optimistic that by end of day tomorrow or sooner, the 2nd of 3 disabled trucks will be returned to service. If this scenario presents itself, we will be collecting two weeks of recycle from some customers. If your recycle containers have not yet been emptied from last week, please keep them in the usual pickup location so that we can continue to pursue our catchup collection in an effort to return to normal service levels.
