The City of Milford will hold a public workshop to discuss the implementation of a City-wide business license on November 14, 2016 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 201 South Walnut Street.
Business owners and the public are welcome hear a short presentation about the draft ordinance and discuss the proposed business license program with City Council and staff.
Currently, the City requires a Contractor’s License for any company or person performing construction within City limits. The City also requires all Peddlers, Solicitors and Transient Merchants to obtain a Vendor’s License from the City.
The Business License will require all remaining persons engaged in the sale of goods or services within Milford to register with the City, similar to many other Delaware communities.
If adopted, the Business License program would begin January 1, 2017 for new businesses and allow existing businesses until June 30, 2017 to obtain their license. Licenses will be renewed annually in coordination with the calendar year.
