[ARCHIVED] Parks and Recreation Public Input Session

City of Milford seeks public Input on Park Improvements and additional Recreational opportunities

The City of Milford is committed to enhancing the vitality of it’s downtown by making upgrades to existing park infrastructure and to offer new recreational opportunities.

At this time the City of Milford desires to move forward with two Capital infrastructure projects, and is seeking public input in regards to those projects.

Mispillion Riverwalk Lighting. This project is to remove the aged post and railing system alongside the Mispillion river located between South Walnut street and South Washington Street (the Farmers Market/Santa’s house area) and replace it with a new lighted guardrail system. The existing railing system needs to be replaced, and by incorporating lighting into a new guardrail will allow for more illumination for pedestrians.

Memorial Park Concept Plan. This project is to provide more recreational opportunities in Memorial Park South including a children’s playground and Pickleball courts. This will be part of a master plan for Memorial Park South which will ultimately include some additional parking, more access through the park with paths, a picnic pavilion and potentially a public restroom.

  1. The City of Milford values input from it’s citizens and is holding a virtual meeting Thursday 1/20/22 @ 6pm to seek input from the public regarding these two projects. A link can be found below. Concept plans have been created and can be accessed here. Alternatively written comments pertaining to either of these projects can be sent to the Parks and Recreation Director Brad Dennehy @ bdennehy@milford-de.gov.
