[ARCHIVED] SE 2nd St./Marshall St. Intersection Under Review

Effective Monday, Sept. 18, the traffic signals at the intersection of SE 2nd and Marshall will begin to flash red in all four directions. Both signage and electronic message boards will inform motorists of the pending change.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

Motorists traveling eastbound or westbound through the intersection of SE 2nd and Marshall Streets will soon notice signage posted with the caption "SIGNAL UNDER STUDY FOR REMOVAL." This signage is posted to make the public aware of the intent to temporarily change the intersection into a four-way stop location for the purposes of evaluation. The signals will be set to flash red in all four approaches, requiring motorists to stop and treat the intersection as though it included four-way stop signs. This new traffic direction will then be evaluated for safety and effectiveness of movement, for the course of approximately one year. The four-way red flash setting will begin at 6:00 AM on Monday, Sept. 18 at 6:00 AM.
