As part of our commitment to improving the reliability and safety of our electric infrastructure, The City of Milford Electric Department will be conducting a planned power outage to complete necessary upgrades.

Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025

Time: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (8-hour duration)

Areas Affected:

    •    West Shores Development

    •    BayHealth PAM Rehabilitation Center

    •    Windward Grove Development (formerly Wickersham)

    •    Nemours Children’s Health Facility

    •    Southeast Water Tower

We understand that any interruption in service can be disruptive, and we appreciate your patience as we make important improvements to your electric service.

How to Prepare:

Refrigeration & Food Safety

    •    Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible.

    •    A full freezer will keep food frozen for 48 hours (24 hours if half full).

    •    Use coolers with ice for items you may need.

    •    Avoid opening fridge/freezer unnecessarily.

💊 Medical Needs

    •    If you rely on electrically powered medical devices, arrange for backup power or alternative accommodations.

    •    Contact your healthcare provider for guidance if needed.

🔦 General Preparation

    •    Charge devices (phones, laptops, battery packs) the night before.

    •    Have flashlights and extra batteries ready—avoid candles for safety.

    •    Prepare meals in advance that don’t require heating or refrigeration.

    •    Check your home security system's functionality during a power outage.

If weather or safety concerns require rescheduling, we will notify our community in advance. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to enhance the reliability of Milford’s electric service.
