Directions Northbound: Take Route 1 northbound to Route 14/Downtown Milford Exit.
Directions Southbound: Motorists heading southbound on Route 1 will take Route 36/Cedar Beach Road Exit, turn left and go across the overpass and turn left down the ramp and merge onto Route 1 northbound. Take Route 1 northbound to Route 14/Downtown Milford Exit.
BACKGROUND: This project created a grade separated intersection at Northeast Front Street and Route 1 by elevating Northeast Front Street to cross above Route 1. Additionally, a connector road was constructed between Northeast Tenth Street and Northeast Front Street to eliminate the at grade crossover, and redirect traffic to the overpass.
In conjunction with the Corridor Capacity Preservation study for Route 1, a grade separated intersection at Northeast Front Street and Route 1 was needed to preserve both safety for motorists and highway operational capacity.
