On Monday, November 8, Nirmala Samaroo was sworn in as the new City of Milford Councilmember for the third ward by Judge Noel Eason Primos. Councilmember Samaroo ran unopposed and filled the vacancy left by Councilmember Doug Morrow. Her term is 2021-2023.

“I joined the City Council because I would like to be more involved in the community [and] help make a difference in the lives of the people living here,” Councilmember Samaroo said.
She is “most looking forward to learning more about the great city of Milford and to help in whatever way I can to make it even better for future generations,” she said.
In her free time, Councilmember Samaroo enjoys spending time with her family and reading. She also has volunteered in the Veterans Resource Center at DTCC.
