Delaware State Housing Authority: There are four types of affordable housing: Public Housing; Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8 Voucher); Site-Based Subsidized Housing; and Tax Credit sites. COVID-19 Rental Assistance & Mortgage Relief Program
Rental Assistance: Delaware Housing Assistance Program (DEHAP) can assist eligible renter households with rent arrears, current and forward rent, as well as utility arrears and current bills. Visit the application portal and find help submitting an application today!  If you’ve submitted an application, make sure to check your spam and junk mail folders so you don’t miss any emails!  
Mortgage Relief: The Delaware State Housing Authority and its partners are launching a new program designed to assist and support Delaware homeowners who have fallen behind on their mortgage payments and/or could be facing foreclosure as a result of the aforementioned COVID-related hardship.  This program is expected to launch in the Spring of 2022. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): The Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP) is a federally funded program for low-income families that need help in meeting their costs of home energy. The Division of State Service Centers (DSSC) administers this program on a contractual basis with Catholic Charities, Inc. Funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), under the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). DEAP services provide assistance to income eligible families to help them meet their home energy needs. Income eligibility is defined as 200% of the federal poverty level.
